In this blog post, I will share a free pattern for a crochet tulip bookmark. Grab your crochet hook and let’s get started on this fun crochet project!
Materials for Crochet Tulip Bookmark
- 3-ply Monaco Mercerized Cotton yarn or any 0-weight yarn in pink (you can use your preferred color) and green
- 1.6 mm crochet hook
- stitch marker (optional)
- yarn needle
- scissors
- poly fiber fill
Abbreviations
- sc – single crochet
- inc sc – increase single crochet
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- hdc – half double crochet
Notes
- This pattern is written in US terms.
- The tulip flower is made in continuous rows. Use your stitch marker to remember the first st for every row.
- The total number of st in each row is indicated after the equal sign (=).
- Repeat the instructions inside parentheses ( ) as often as indicated after the asterisk *.

Tulip Bookmark Crochet Pattern
Part 1: Tulip Flower
Using the pink yarn,
R1: 6sc in a magic ring = 6
R2: inc sc in every st = 12
R3: (sc, inc sc) * 6 = 18
R4: (sc, inc sc, sc) * 6 = 24
R5-12: sc in every st = 24
Fasten off. Cut the yarn leaving a 6-inch long tail.
Part 2: String and Leaves
Using the green yarn,
- Make ch 80.
- Sl st into the 2nd ch from the hook, hdc into each of the next 6 st, sl st
- Ch 8 and sl st into the 2nd ch from the hook. Make hdc into each of the next 6 st. Lastly, sl st into the post of the last hdc of step 2.
Fasten off. Cut the yarn and weave the tail.
Part 3: Assemble
Step 1: Insert the string through the bottom center of the tulip using the hook. Turn the tulip right side out. Tie the yarn tails of the string and magic ring together.
Step 2: Stuff the tulip with poly fiber filling. Fold the opening of the tulip and sew the top. Refer to the pictures below and sew the middle stitch, followed by the corner stitch.
Step 3: Cut the yarn and weave the tail to finish.
