How to Adjust the Pattern
To adjust the size of the hat, modifying the number of rows in each part of the hat (crown, body, and brim) is all that’s required.
For a larger hat, add more rows by incorporating six extra stitches in every row of the crown and brim sections. The number of stitches in each row of the body should match the number of stitches in the last row of the crown.
For a smaller hat, reduce the number of rows as needed. Keep in mind that the first row of the brim should have six more stitches than the last row of the crown.
With these adjustments, you can customize the pattern to fit your head or the head of the person you’re making the hat for.
